Very cool idea. I don’t usually do mind mapping since it doesn’t feel natural to me. I’ve found it just doesn’t work.
I do use a piece of paper and a pen for my notes though, but I do listing.

Hi,
Like the idea of mind mapping. I haven’t used it myself although I can see how effective it could be. Would be interested in mind maps to do with IM strategies.
By the way, this is my first ever post on Youtube & I have just started the 30 day challenge for this year.
I met Caro recently if you know of her.
My username on the forum is boxy.
Thanks for the useful info.

What a turkey I am nez. I have periodically used mind maps for a whole bunch of stuff and it never crossed my mind to use in the development of a niche market idea and the rest of the process for that matter. Thanks for the reminder. Brad

Regarding the 6 degrees of kevin bacon. Does it work with anybody in a movie? If so I say Daniel Johnston (The Devil and Daniel Johnston) If it has to be an actor I´d say Borat, you know what´s-his-name.

I love mind mapping. I’m an artistic nerd too.
My next door neighbor was an extra in a Kevin Bacon movie. She spent a whole day just feet away from him.
Are you within six degrees of Robert Redford?

weird, i dont think my mind works that way. i would more likely draw a tree diagram or multiple lines that branch off similar to yours, just not based on a center. and i would have to mix setting with things, i couldn’t separate them like that =p. Very interesting though. thanks for the video =)

thanks for the video. I have used mindmapping in the past and should have been using as I went through the 30dc. I went through it in 14 days, so will go back and do it again, but this time I will mindmap it. then when I do my next hundred sites. I will have a plan for each one.

Nice video on mind mapping – good quality video.
I use mind mapping all day every day, both on paper and using software. I use an open source package called “freemind”. It is free and is available for Windows, Mac and Linux.
Sounds like an add – only its free.

Just to let you know, depending on where we learn mind maps from, what you’re doing may not be really mind mapping. Well, according to Tony Buzan, you should use only 1 word on each branch. It serves to trigger rather than show just a picture. You might want to try it for a change; my older notes were done in a format similar to yours but since the change, I can make recalls more effectively.

The problem is that with methods like flash cards, you might be able to get to the point faster where you can repeat the facts you learned. However, long-term retention fails. So, if you are cramming for an exam, flash cards, might be better, but if you are trying to learn to be able to recall it six months later, flash cards are not the way to do it.

Thank you SO much for showing me the mind map on your children’s story!
I’m new to mind mapping and despite what others have said, I personally found it very helpful.
I really like how you write inside bubbles, something I wouldn’t have learned any other way. Your separation of plot, characters, and morals are a GREAT idea, too.
Thank you again!
